What a scorcher!

No one can say that July 2013 has not been a corker. All that heat then all this rain! But it makes this country what it is.

Just a jumbled collection of images from Pwantagoniland, with views out as far as the cathedrals of Liverpool, some 40 nautical miles as a very energetic crow would fly or south west, past Jodrell Bank, Beeston castle to the far distant Berwyns. On days like today, you can see these from here, even though they are over 60 NM away. Just a few days ago, before the storms came, you would have been hard pressed to have seen more than a few miles with the haze like it was.

The weather this last week has produced the dramatic storms that we get here in England. Nothing like on the scale of those in the large flat landscapes of the USA or the Steppe, but for us, quite enough thank you very much. Triple rainbows and billowing clouds. One day I may even capture lightning itself…

All in all, a rather busy month out snapping the local landscape…

Today was a day of finding much needed sanctuary from the never ending noise of life.

Today it was found in the beautiful setting, the Moravian Settlement just outside Manchester…
